Healthy Eating And Budget Friendly: Check Out These Farmers Markets Around Kansas City!

Summer is a great time for fresh fruits and vegetables, but sometimes they can be a little bit more expensive than what I want to spend. So I take some other routes to enjoy fresh produce!
I love to go to the farmer’s market on Saturday mornings. One Saturday, I was able to get a large carrot, a large onion, a bunch of asparagus, four fresh tomatoes, and four apples all for only $9! What a bargain! And not only was the produce delicious, but I was supporting local farmers.
Many of the farmer’s markets have not only produce, but also fresh plants, herbs, baked goods, fresh cut flowers and crafts!
There are a variety of Farmer’s Markets in the Kansas City area. Most of them are open April through October! Many of them accept cash only, so leave those plastic cards at home. Some of the markets also accept SNAP or EBT.
These are just a small handful of farmer’s markets in KC and by no means an exhaustive list. Give them a try and let me know what you think!
