The KCIM Culture

I love having the opportunity to share about the culture of KCIM. The two primary reasons I joined this fantastic team include the high level of focus on quality, and the family focused culture.  The team has proven over and over again that the culture is woven into the very fabric of everything that the practice does and stands for.  Serving our patients, and serving one another is truly the great joy of our team.

Last year, we asked our staff how they would define our culture, so I felt I would share with you a few excerpts. I believe they define our culture especially well.  Here you go:

“In addition to the close relationships we have with each other, many of us have even closer relationships with our patients. They walk in with a smile and we greet them by name. We know their stories, their families, and we enjoy discussing the latest "going-ons" in our lives. In a nutshell, the culture of KCIM is that of a strong family whose common goal is to provide excellent patient care. We work hard and have fun at our jobs, both with each other and with our patients.”   (Julie Winegar, Former Employee)

“KCIM is very well respected around the city and with good reason. KCIM has instilled not only a strong work ethic in their employees but a real sense of caring for those that they treat. This sense of caring comes not only from the clinical staff, but from the front office workers, business office staff and the switchboard. The patients are priority number one for the entire staff. Not only does KCIM care about the patient they also care about the staff.”  (Linda Kelly)

"I may be a physician, but I am only as good as the staff that surrounds me. The reality is that in most medical offices the patients have as much or more contact with the staff as with the doctor, therefore it is terribly important to have caring, hard-working people staffing your office.  Whether you are talking about the front desk, nursing, lab, Xray, business office personnel or any of the other KCIM employees, we are all committed to deliver the kind of care we’d like our own family to receive.  I am extremely proud to be a part of the KCIM professional family, many of whom have been with this organization much longer than me." (Marie Delcambre, M.D.)

“We are all part of a team that makes KCIM a leader in patient care. I think KCIM gives everyone an opportunity to be a leader and accomplishments are regularly recognized. There is openness to new ideas and sharing of information. KCIM truly cares about their patients and their employees.” (Harriet Graver-Hoover)

“KCIM culture begins with the hiring of some of the finest doctors in their field(s).  Our doctors are not only the best in the greater metropolitan area, they are truly outstanding to all employees.  The KCIM board goes to great lengths to hire the best.  Our company takes a personal account of the well being of each and every employee and their families as well.” (Gaye Morgan)

My hope is that if you are a part of our team, whether a patient or an employee, that you and your family can “feel” the difference.  Our goal is to create a warm and friendly environment that encourages health and wellbeing.  As our mission statement states, it is our honor to serve as “Ambassadors for a healthy Kansas City.”

All the best,
