Dr. Baker graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine's integrated six-year medical program. He received a Bachelor of Arts degrees with Distinction in Biology and Chemistry in 1991 and a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1992. His Residency was completed at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine from 1992-1995.
Dr. Baker is board certified in Internal Medicine since 1995. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.
He served three years active duty in the United States Air Force at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois as a general internist. While there, he helped start a Diabetes Clinic and taught family practice residents and medical students from Saint Louis University as an Assistant Clinical Professor.
Currently, Dr. Baker serves as a preceptor to medical students from Kansas University Medical School and is appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor. He is a sub-investigator with the Center for Pharmaceutical Research which conducts pharmaceutical studies.
Dr. Baker is on staff at St. Joseph Medical Center and rounds on his own inpatients. His focus is on preventative medicine and health as well as the treatment of many diseases with a focus on care for patients with diabetes.
In his free time, Dr. Baker enjoys spending time with his family, singing, and providing ministry in his church.
