Dr. Jacobs graduated from Columbia University in New York , NY in 1989 with a B.A. in Latin American Studies and History. He attended the Mayo Medical School in Rochester , MN where he received his Doctorate of Medicine in 1995. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 1999 from the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland , OH where he was also designated as Chief Resident in 1999.

Dr. Jacobs is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics/Adolescent Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatricians and the American College of Physicians.

In 2005, Dr Jacobs created a clinic in the Kansas City Area designated to treat evacuees from Hurricane Katrina and saw nearly 1000 patients to which he was awarded the ACP Humanitarian Award for 2005. In 2007 he was named "Kansas City SuperDoctor" by KC Magazine and "One of America's Top Pediatricians" by the Consumers Research Council.

Dr. Jacobs worked in Alabama after receiving his Medical Degree and returned home to Kansas City in 2003. He has been working in the area as a hospitalist for St. Lukes Health System as well as operating a small boutique practice in Overland Park, KS. Dr. Jacobs is a advocate of community service and over the past few years has been a volunteer physician for Cabot and Turner Clinics. Dr. Jacobs is thrilled to join Kansas City Internal Medicine and become a part of a great medical team.

Dr. Jacobs and his wife live in Overland Park, KS and are raising 4 beautiful children.
