Dr. Wendland graduated from Stanford University in Stanford, CA with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology in 1981 and 1982 respectively. He
received his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1987 and went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine
at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, CA from 1987-1990. Dr Wendland practiced in his hometown of Portland, OR before moving to
Kansas City in 1994 and was with Internal Medicine and Rheumatology Associates for 14 years before joining Kansas City Internal Medicine
in 2008.
Dr. Wendland has been board certified in Internal Medicine since 1990. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and former
Chairperson of the Department of Medicine at St. Joseph Medical Center for 2007 and 2008.
Dr. Wendland is on staff at St. Joseph Medical Center.
In his spare time Dr. Wendland enjoys spending time with his wife and their three teenage children and family activities with his wife’s
extended family here in Kansas City. Dr. Wendland is a sports enthusiast and enjoys playing tennis with his kids, semi-annual canoe and
campout trips an the Niangua River and playing his trumpet on holidays
