Marie Delcambre, M.D.

Dr. Delcambre is a Ragin’ Cajun from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now known as the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. Her Doctorate in Medicine was awarded by Tulane University School of Medicine followed by her move to Boston where she completed her Harvard University internship and residency as a Fellow in Medicine at the New England Deaconess Hospital, now known as the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.

She continued as a Harvard Instructor in Medicine for 2 years before moving to the Kansas City area in 1984.  Dr Delcambre maintains board certification in Internal Medicine and in Geriatrics and is a Kansas University Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, serving as a preceptor and mentor for KU medical students.

In 2010 she transitioned from traditional private practice to become the first KCIM affiliate of MDVIP in order to pursue a more personalized practice model with a focus on health and wellness. This model is sometimes known as a concierge practice.  She continues to donate services to a local group home and personally follows her patients in the home and nursing home setting whenever possible. Current hospital privileges include Menorah Medical Center and St. Joseph Medical Center.

Dr. Delcambre prides herself on following the same healthy diet and exercise recommendations she gives her patients. Family time is also extremely important to her, and she and her husband make the grandchildren the focal point of their free time now that the children are grown and on their own.
