Billing FAQs
  1. Is my doctor in-network with my insurance plan?
    KCIM has provided a list of insurances that we participate with on our website. Make sure that you always verify your insurances participation with your health plan.
  2. What is a deductible?
    The amount you have to pay out-of –pocket for expenses before your insurance company will cover the remaining costs.
  3. What is coinsurance?
    A co-sharing agreement between the insured and the insurer which provides that the insured will cover a set cost after the deductible has been met.
  4. What is a copay?
    The amount that the patient is expected to pay at the time of their medical visit. The amount is determined by the insured’s health plan.
  5. Does KCIM offer a self pay discount?
    The cost of the visit is expected at the time of the service, you will receive a 20% discount at the time of payment.
  6. Can I pay my bill over the phone?
    Yes, KCIM accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and we can process an electronic check for you convenience.
  7. Can I pay my bill on-line?
    Yes, you may now sign up on our patient portal to make your payments on-line at www.kcim.com.
  8. How do I know how much my balance is?
    KCIM provides our patients with a monthly statement reflecting their balance after your insurance has been processed. If you have misplaced your statement you may contact our billing office at 816-943-0706.
  9. Where is KCIM’s billing office located?
    The billing office is located at 1010 Carondelet Ste: 124 Kansas City, MO  64114.  We are in Building A of the Saint Joseph Medical Center’s campus.
